The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) have launched a new campaign called the Ripple Effect campaign

This campaign aims to raise awareness of the significant impact that data breaches can have on individuals and communities.

The new guidance from the ICO includes good practice on: 

• Communicating with empathy if a data breach does happen.  
• How to understand risk in personal data breaches.  
• How to minimise the risk of personal data breaches happening. 
• How to respond to a personal data breach in the first 72 hours. 

As a chambers committed to data protection and security, we are pleased to currently be the only chambers in the UK to achieve the LOCS:23 accreditation. This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to upholding the highest standards of information security.

We encourage all our clients and colleagues to familiarise themselves with the Ripple Effect campaign and the ICO’s guidance. By working together, we can strengthen data protection and minimize the potential harm caused by data breaches.
