30 Park Place’s strong family team offers expertise in all of the financial aspects of family law from matrimonial proceedings to cohabitee disputes. The team boasts King's Counsel who is widely acknowledged - on Circuit and beyond - to excel in the field of ancillary relief, and who, over recent years, has appeared in some of the most high profile and high value financial provision cases in Wales. In addition to this expertise at a senior level, there are specialist practitioners in financial provision at all levels.
Members regularly appear in family finance cases within the County Courts across Wales and the South West, as well as further afield, and also in the Principal Registry, covering all aspects of representation up to final hearing as well as providing advice in conference. Particular expertise can be found amongst the team in insolvency, inheritance, pensions, family companies and/or partnerships and also in special cases such as those involving farms or family trusts. Chambers also offers expertise in applications to the High Court under Part III of the Matrimonial and Family Proceedings Act 1984 (provision following foreign divorce).
Chambers can also offer facilities for “round table” settlement meetings and joint conferences with breakout rooms, with a view to promoting early resolution.
In addition, Chambers offers specialist representation and guidance in trusts law and civil procedure in the complex and developing field of cohabitee disputes (applications under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996) and in applications for financial provision for children (under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989)
